O PROJETO BITACORA

The artistic project that I will develop is inspired by the Beaufort Scale and its descriptions of wind’s effect on earth and sea. To develop this project, I will assemble a “camera-observatory” capable of recollecting samples of the landscape and as a result, construct a personal chromatic scale, re-creating a new poetic and chromatic classification based on the influence of the wind. A new scale that visually contemplates the chromatic variations of the landscape and its subjective descriptions.
At the same time, the graphic manipulation of regional maps and nautical charts dislocated from their context and original function, will serve as the base to design imaginary cartography of the territory under observation. The samples and maps summed to the notes made by the artist in her explorer logbook will be the structure for a final artwork.
